Good website design planning is very critical to the success of your home business. Your site is like your store, your office, your factory, it is your place of business and you want it to be available to everyone, anywhere in the world at all times.

Like many people out there on the internet, I have tried to visit sites that have taken too long to load and have just ended up moving on to something else. The owner of that website have just missed a visitor and maybe even a sale, because some script took too long to do its thing and the images could not load fast enough.

We are living in a fast pace world where people need answers like yesterday. No matter how beautiful your site is, if many of the people going there cannot see it then it is a complete waste of your energy and resources. Making some simple changes in your website design planning could probably allow it to get a lot more traffic, sales and optins, and that is what you want.

Here are five 5 critical elements that you need to pay close attention to when planning your website design for your home business:

(1). Simple Navigation – Have a clear and simple navigation set up on your website. Create a conducive environment for your visitors that allows easy access to different sections of your site. Do not over-crowd it and give your visitors too much problems to get around the clutter, they will hit the back button fast.

(2). Not Too Many Graphics – Reduce the amount of graphics and images that you have on your site. You have to remember that not everyone has high speed internet or using the same type of browsers. If your site has too much images and graphics it could take too long to load. Some browsers like Firefox will just tell you it is taking too long, or the visitor hit the back button. Either way, you have just lost another prospect.

(3). Keep Paragraphs Short – People tend to stay away from content with long paragraphs. Speed is of the essence here, we are all busy people and we want to see how fast we can browse through our reading material. Most long paragraphs will not be read as it takes too much effort to do so. Break up long paragraphs and keep your sentences short as well.

(4). Avoid Using Scripting Software – Using heavy scripting language on your website to create visual effects will slow down the loading process, and could even crash some browsers. Many of your visitors might not be able to visit your site and would therefore miss important information. This is not good for your home business.

(5). Compatibility With Other Browsers – Your site should comply with all web standards so that it can be viewed on all web browsers. This is critical to your business as you want to make sure that everyone with an internet connection can have easy access to your site in whatever browser they have.

As a home business owner, you should take great care in the planning of your website design. Your goal is to get it in front of as many people as possible, and if these people cannot view it you will be losing out big time on your venture. Paying close attention to this very important aspect of your operations could probably make you a lot more money than you are making right now.
