The next step

You will need to find a web host. The web host will store your website online so the world will be able to access it. The domain name points to these files and thats how people visit the site. Web hosting generally costs around $5 per month, so is very cheap.

The third step

Install an e-commerce script on your website. You can actually get this for free if you look around. There are some really decent open source scripts that you can use. If you don’t want to use a free one, then there are some good and low costs scripts out there. A web store script will allow you to list products easily. You don’t need any knowledge of creating web sites or anything technical. The script itself usually comes with step by step instructions on how to set it up.

The fourth step

This is the most important step of all. Once you have your new website set up and running and you have added your products to it, you need to get some customers. You need to find good ways of driving traffic to your website to get some sales of your products. You can do this in several ways.

Pay per click marketing

This is where you create an advert for your website and when people click on it you pay for that visitor. This is a popular way for people to get traffic to their websites, but it can prove costly. If you decide to use this method I would strongly recommend that you set a small budget and monitor the results very closely. If it turns out that you aren’t making a profit then don’t carry on with it. PPC marketing can be very expensive if your website isn’t making enough sales.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

This is another popular way to get some traffic to your web site. This involves optimizing your web site so that search engines display your webs site in searches. The best part about this is thats its free. The downside is that it can be quite difficult and may be months before you start to see any results.
